General Atlantic Partners, LLC is one of the world's leading direct investment firms focused exclusively on information technology, process outsourcing and communications investments on a global basis. We invest not only in providers of information technology but also in those companies for which technology is a key competitive differentiator. Since 1980, we have invested in over 130 IT companies and currently have almost $6 billion in capital under management. We have over 50 companies in our portfolio today, of which almost one-third are based outside of the US.

Our annual investment target is $800 million. General Atlantic is a stage independent investor. While we have invested at the formation stage of a company, we most often invest in the mid to later stages of a company's development and have participated in selected buyout situations. Our investments have ranged between $25 to $100 million and we have the capability for substantially larger investments as well. We are usually a minority investor and do not seek a controlling interest.
